I live by the seaside so now and then things get attacked by the salty air and need replacing. I bought these handles for my front door. They are very sturdy and well made with everything you need, bar the screw driver, to fit them. I’m very happy and they look great.

This handle fit my back door perfectly, I did measure first to make sure it would be the same as old handles, as there is quite a few to choose from on Amazon. I have to say they seem even better and stronger then my old handles. Within 5 minutes the handles had been fitted, I’m thinking to buy another pair and change handles on my front door! Price is really good too.

The handles were a straight replacement but it is important to double check the measurements of the existing handle as there are several different sizes available that all look the same but this really applies to any item being replaced. This applies to overall length and width and the distance between the bolt holes.The only potential problem was that the bolts may need to be shortened depending on the thickness of the doors and the threads in the 'back plate' only allowed the screws to be screwed in a couple of threads so the bolts need to be cut very accurately indeed. I would suggest that having calculated the required length one allows an extra thread or so and testing the fit. It is always possible to cut a bit more off the bolts but if they are too short new bolts will have to be purchased from somewhere. Perhaps I was unlucky with the depth of the threads cut into the back plate but I bought two sets of handles and they were both the same. The original handles had about 8mm of threads tapped into them, not the 2mm of the new ones, and deeper thread holes would have cutting the bolts to length much less of a worry.

Old handle snapped off but this replacement fitted perfectly. Very strong and looks perfect with the door.

After watching someone replace handles on three of my exterior doors, and it costing me a fortune, I decided to do this one myself. The old one broke the day after the others were replaced. It’s not hard to do and I wish I’d known that replacing the handles would have solved my problem with the others. However, you live and learn. So, I ordered this, it came today and was on the door in 5 minutes. Honestly, that’s all it took to remove the old one and install the new one. It wasn’t heavy, so no idea if it’s classed as sturdy, but it does the job on a side garage door. If it doesn’t last long, I’ll contact Amazon Customer Services who are always helpful and polite.

Looks amazing and easy to fit

Says they are universal will fit most double glazed doors they wouldnt fit mine, my mother's or aunts we've all double glazed doors all different styles. Steer clear of these
