MUJIGel Ink Ballpoint Pens 0.38mm 9-colors Pack

These Muji pens are a big hit at our house and with our kids (ages 6 to 16). They are great for note-taking and everyday writing. Plus, the best thing about any pens is that the ink flow smoothly. We've been impressed by the both their ability to stand up to kid abuse and how their colors remain vibrant colors.

Beautiful designThis pen’s exterior is exactly what it needs to be — it’s sleek, simple, and clean. Even though it’s simple, the beige and salmon colored sticker is eye-catching enough to give it some personality. The key feature is that this pen doesn’t have a rubber grip, so it’s not a dirt and dust magnet. The pen’s body has an opaque and matte texture. At first, I was scared the matte surface would scratch, but after a few months of rough-and-tumble in my backpack, it became clear that the plastic refuses to scratch.The cap snaps off and fits on the back of the pen very nicely. The balance of the pen with the cap on the back feels light and airy. It doesn’t need to be very heavy since the ink flows smoothly without any pressure.UsageThis pen withstood a bunch of abuse throughout the semester, and didn’t give out on me the entire time. I take all my notes by hand, and I never had any problems with flow or consistency. The ink flows easily with little to no pressure, so it’s easier to write timed essays with these pens than most others. The supposed .38 mm line weight runs a little thicker than the Hi-Tec-C4’s .4mm line, which wasn’t a problem unless I was trying to write very small. The ink dried relatively quickly and I never had any issues with smudging it with my hand. The ink does transfer to the opposite page a little when you flip a page over and write on the other side. You’d think the ink would be dry by the time a whole page is filled with notes, but I would see little specks of ink on the opposite page anyways. Not a huge issue, but it forced me to take the paper out of my notebook to take notes. Each pen lasted me about 2–3 months, which is roughly 50 pages of notes.

This is my go to pen! I love the fine point. It doesn’t bleed through pages and hasn’t smudged on me yet (I’m a lefty)! Perfect for annotating.

These pens are my babies. I love them so much. There are no words to express how much I love Muji pens. They last for a long time (and that's saying something since I use them for taking notes in nursing school), are an absolute pleasure to write with, have vivid colors, and are comfortable to hold. I use them for planning in my Passion Planner and they do not bleed through. A set of these makes a great gift to those people who keep borrowing your pens too. :) My only complaint with these pens is that Muji doesn't carry a purple in the 0.38mm size. If there was a purple it would make the set absolutely perfect.

These pens are by far the best pens I have ever used. I write very small, and the 0.38mm tip helps to keep my letters clean and distinct. It may depend on the type of material you're writing on, but I have never had problems with these pens smudging. I had these pens stolen from me, so I bought another set because I liked them so much. These are refillable, so if you run out of ink, you can just buy an ink refill which is about 30-40 cents cheaper than buying the pen again.FYI: I bought from the seller Big mall treasure! and the pens arrived earlier than expected, neatly wrapped in bubble wrap, and in excellent condition--all pens are working properly and have full ink. They even sent an origami crane with my order...so nice!

These are excellent pens that always write evenly and are extra fine. The extra fine points haven't gotten clogged in the last month of using these pens regularly. Two improvements that could be made (not lowering my rating for them, but I think it would make these even better): The stickers aren't that easy to remove from each individual pen. Perhaps they should have one label on the package instead of each individual pen? Also, I don't see refills available online. The beauty of these pens in their stores is that you buy a cheap pen that works well, then you use the barrel until it wears out, replacing with cheaper refills from the store.I have some refills I purchased on a trip to Asia recently, but it would be nice to be able to buy the refills for popular colors.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE these pens. I have to take a lot of notes since I'm a college student, and I adore the smooth writing and vibrant colors the .38 Muji pens have. However, I'm having a problem with ONLY the pink pen for some reason. The rest of the pens are great, but the pink Muji pen is always skipping and the color is not vibrant at all even though it's completely new as seen in the attached photos (sorry for my terrible handwriting 😅). That's the only reason why I docked off a star. Other than that, these pens are amazing and I'd HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

I bought the .38 size pens. The colors are pretty. Personally, I preferred using the pens for writing than coloring. These pens are good for outlining rather than filling in a huge image because size of pen. It doesn't bleed through pages but it can be seen through if the pages are light or extremely thin.
