Works very well for my cat
My 12-year-old, long-haired and much-loved moggie suffered several days of bringing up undigested food more than once per day, plus bile in the mornings before his breakfast. The vets couldn't find anything wrong with him - in fact, they said he seemed to be in rude health - and suggested it may be hairball-related. I started giving him this "Vet's Best" Hairball Control gel and within 48 hours he brought up several lengths of hair, then quite a sizeable hairball. The sickness reduced in frequency, then a few days later another hairball came up. After that, there's been just one occasion (within a period of a few weeks) where he was sick; the rest of the time he's been absolutely fine. For the first few days he would lick the gel from my finger, but then decided he wasn't too keen. Now, I put it on his paw, which he doesn't seem to mind too much and licks it off quite happily. He obviously doesn't hate it, as he remains as affectionate towards me as ever.I'm always wary of recommending products for other people's animals, as they're all different and what works for one may not for another. All I can say is, this gel has been a resounding success for my cat. Oh, and regarding the smell - mentioned in a couple of reviews - I really don't mind it... it's a yeasty, savoury smell - a bit like Marmite (so I guess you either love it or hate it!).

It does work!
Okay, after using it for a month, I can conclude it does work. My 10 year old cat suffers from hairball problems a lot. This would lead to quite frequent vomiting episodes. I started feeding him this stuff every day and he would not vomit on those days. I forgot to feed him this a couple of days earlier on and he started vomiting up his food again.. so I just kept up with feeding him this and he never vomited again. Except he was still, now and then, heaving and trying to cough up a hair ball to no avail. Then yesterday I found 2 long coughed up hairballs on my couch. Gross find, but I'm also glad that he finally coughed them up. This has convinced me that this gel really works. Took a while to work though - almost a month of daily feeding this. But I'd rather clean up a hairball every month than to have to clean up large patches of stinky food vomit every week. As for flavour, it can't be bad, because my cat has never refused my offering of this gel, and he's usually a pretty fussy cat about what he will or will not eat. Really easy to feed. Just an inch of this gel on a finger tip once a day. He licks it all off in seconds. Well the packaging says the cat should pass out the hairball, but my cat is coughing them up instead. Oh well, never mind.. as long as he stops vomiting up his food, it's fine whichever end of his body the hairball is expelled..

Great product
My cat loves this stuff! The vet diagnosed him with asthma about a year ago, due to the fact that he had been constantly bending over wheezing. They couldn't figure out why he was doing this, until they suggested that it might be a hairball issue not long ago. I decided to try this as he would not touch the pastes that they tried to give him and I must say he loves it! He licks it off my finger then comes back wanting more. Since giving him this product, he has had no reactions or issues with wheezing since. I will definitely continue to use this product for him. I definitely recommend.

Cats love the taste
I was worried if the paste had a taste that my cats wouldn't like so I put some on my finger and they loved it, I now give it to them twice a week.

Cat won't ho near it!
Thought I'd give this a go but my cat backs away from it! So it was a waste of money for me.Bit I'm sure some cats will like it. It smells a bit like marmite, so I suppose its a love it or hate it thing :)

Fabulous stuff, works a treat & my cat loves it
Fabulous stuff, works a treat & my cat loves it so easy to get him to take it - this is quite a relief as he can be a fuss pot and didn't think he would take it... When we first tried it, he had been struggling with a hairball & couldn't move it - this was suggested to me.. I held my boy as my husband tried to get him to take it, but our boy refused & the get went all over my hand - as we didn't want him stressing decided to leave & rethink how best to administer it.. My husband went to put the gel away & I made a fuss over our boy to let him know it was ok - as I did he purred at his mini triumph over us, but sniffed at the gel on my hand so I let him.. He must have loved the smell as soon decided to taste it & oh boy did he like it... Got the tube back out and he couldn't take it off me quick enough - seems he didn't need any encouragement to take this medicine... Then to my delight, the hairball he had been struggling with for the past few days was out literally in the hour - was so happy for kitty.. We now give him regularly, which defiantly reduces the nasty hairballs.. So yes I would not hesitate to recommend this for any kitty prone to hairballs & I wouldn't worry about them taking it, seems a lot just love it - not going to say all anyone with cats will know they like to prove us wrong..

Vet's Best Digestive Aid Gel (for hairballs)
My cat wouldn't go near it. One sniff and there was no chance she'd take it. I left some in her dish with food around it but the food and the gel was left all day. The smell is quite strong & the cat sniffed it from a distance. A waste of money sadly.

It works
Ok my 2 hairy beasts don't lick it off my fingers or even a plate as suggested. But they get it weekly by a large syringe. It works brilliantly. My coonie who is mega hairy suffers bad with hair balls but since giving this weekly it has helped. No more weird noises with him trying to vomit up an alien. Have bought more and will use all the time. Brilliant stuff especially the gel one.
